Kirk St.Amant

Kirk St.Amant is a Professor and the Eunice C. Williamson Chair in Technical Communication at Louisiana Tech University where he serves as the Director of Louisiana Tech's Center for Health and Medical Communication (CHMC). He is also an Adjunct Professor of Health and Medical Communication with the University of Limerick in Ireland and a Research Fellow in User Experience Design with the University of Strasbourg in France. His research focuses on usability in international health and medical contexts, global health literacy, and developing health and medical products patients in different cultures can use easily and effectively.  


Ciprian Dumea 

Ciprian Dumea is an intercultural and language professional at the European Parliament. He holds an MA in translation and terminology from the Department Applied Modern Languages of Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca (UBB). For the past 22 years, he has specialised in legal and technical translations, terminology and clear language. He has a special interest in terminology, a field in which he has given various courses and presentations at UBB Cluj, the University of Luxembourg and the Savoie Mont Blanc University. After the workshop, he will be more than happy to meet you to discuss translation, terminology, work abroad, books, science fiction, wuxia, and even the meaning of '42' if you wish :)

Kristiina Suviste


Kristiina Suviste is an administrative expert who works within the Machine Translation and AI-Based Multilingual Services sector at the European Commission in Luxembourg. She holds a degree in Social Sciences from the University of Tartu, Estonia, and utilizes her academic background in public administration to improve translation and communication services via technological innovation. Her primary responsibilities include handling queries about eTranslation and Commissions' other AI-Based Multilingual Services, analysing user feedback to improve AI-powered translation solutions and delivering presentations and facilitating workshops for target user groups. Kristiina's proficiency in multiple languages, together with her skills in administrative coordination and project management, contributes substantially to the development of AI- Based Multilingual Services in the European Commission.


Titela Vîlceanu


Titela Vîlceanu PhD, phil. hab., Director of the Translation Centre for Translation, Communication and Interpretation (2012-present), Director of the Department of Publications and Media (2012-2016), is Professor at the University of Craiova, Romania. Her main research interests lie in translation studies, pragmatics, intercultural communication and ELT methodology. Titela Vilceanu is President of the Romanian Society for English and American Studies (RSEAS) and member of the European Society for the Study of English (ESSE) Board (2017-present). She has attended numerous international conferences in country and abroad (also as a keynote speaker in some of them), and authored more than 70 papers and 5 books, https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6216-812X. She has participated in 12 international interdisciplinary research programmes and in international networks projects (e.g., OPTIMALE -Optimising professional translator training in a multilingual Europe, 2010-2013). She is Director of the project Translation Times, funded by the Ministry of Education, Romania (2021-2023). She is main editor of Open Linguistics. Special Issue: Translation Times 2022 and Open Linguistics. Special Issue: Translation Times 2023, and co-editor of O istorie a traducerilor în limba română – ITLR (A History of Tranlations into Romanian), vol. 1, 2 (2021, 2022) with the Romanian Academy Publishing House. She is a member of the Advisory Board of Annals of the University of Craiova, Series: Linguistics, The Scientific Bulletin of the Politehnica University of Timişoara – Transactions of Modern Languages, of Professional Communication and Translation Studies, a reviewer with Swedish Journal of Romanian Studies, University of Lund, Sweden, Section editor with Open Linguistics, De Gruyter, a member of the Scientific Council of Universitaria and Pro Universitaria publishing houses. She is also the Head of the Translation, Terminology and Corpus Analysis (CoTraT) research laboratory, Faculty of Letters, University of Craiova.
